Following single releases featuring Naomi Banks and Madison McFerrin, American producer, ARKTKT unleashes the rest of his highly anticipated Anima.exe EP, out on Jamz Supernova’s label, Future Bounce.

Influenced by 90s anime, Ghost in the Shell, Anima.exe was inspired by the concept of combining human consciousness with technology. Expanding upon Carl Jung’s theory of Anima as the internal feminine side existing within masculinity, ARKTKT explores these themes visually with cyberpunk stylized graphics and sonically through a diverse musical palette ranging from splintering percussion to smooth soulful vocals.

Speaking on the importance of the project, ARKTKT shares:
“Anima.exe is my most cohesive project to date in my opinion. I’m very proud of this EP as I’ve always wanted to release more collaborative projects. There’s nothing quite like working with talented musicians and getting an end result that is far different than what I could’ve done by myself. I’ve been working on this project through some very significant milestones in my life and it will be quite the personal time capsule in the future.”

The EP adds three new songs to the previously released ‘Amethyst’ and ‘Mantis’. While ‘Anima’ and ‘Make Me Feel’ exhibit ARKTKT’s aptitude for left-field production, ‘Gravity’ slows the pace, tapping his aptitude for in-the-pocket songwriting and showcasing the New Jersey artist’s own vocals.

ARKTKT is both an alias and a fitting description for the way New Jersey native, Jarred Barnes, constructs and manipulates sound. A Berklee College graduate, Barnes renders detailed compositions featuring self-sung vocals and keyboard solos that showcase a deep affinity for music theory as well as innovative songwriting.

ARKTKT’s talents have caught the ear of various industry heads, seeing the young musician writing and producing for artists such as Fetty Wap, Ethan Bortnick and earning a Gold Certified credit for his work on the YBN Mixtape. With support from the likes of Clash Magazine, BBC Radio 1Xtra, SoulBounce, TheSoundYouNeed, TheWordisBond and Futuremag Music across his latest singles – ‘Mantis’ and ‘Amethyst’ – ARKTKT looks toward new creative frontiers in 2021, exhibiting an amalgamation of his past and present, looking to challenge the constructs of neo-soul and electronica.
